Opened in 1677 as The Grecian Coffee House, this historic pub was the favourite haunt of various historical figures, including Sir Isaac Newton, Sir Edmund Halley and Hans Sloane.
Newly reopened in 2019 as an independent pub, we have Guinness, real ales, wines, gins, whiskeys as well as a great soft drinks selection. We also have a weekly quiz, board games, TV screens to show selected matches and a function room for private parties.
In line with social distancing guidance, we have taken steps to minimise the risk of COVID-19 to our staff and customers. This includes introducing table service inside, making hand sanitiser available and asking customers not to sit at the bar.
